Calder Community Centre was built in 1979. Activities which take place include the playgroup, martial arts classes, mother and toddler groups, senior citizen events, bingo evenings, carpet bowling, keep fit classes, Irish dance classes and Councillor surgeries.
Social functions such as weddings, parties, discos and race nights as well as community-based ventures would be welcomed at Calder Community Centre.
Facilities
Calder Community Centre has a large sized hall, which can be adapted to suit the needs of most functions. The main hall can retain a maximum of 120 persons for a dinner dance set up and disco event. There is also a mobile stage available in this centre, which can be set up to suit the needs of the hirer of the hall.
In addition to the main hall there is a committee room, which can be used for the purpose of small gatherings and meetings. This room can hold a maximum of 10 persons at any one time.
There are also ladies and gents changing rooms in the centre, which makes this an ideal venue for sporting activities. For the purpose of sporting activities, the centre has net ball and badminton stands and nets.
Kitchen facilities in Calder Community Centre are suitable for re-heating food only and not for the purposes of catering. There is a domestic cooker and fridge available if required.
Transport
Calder Community Centre is accessible by public transport and a bus stop can be found 100 yards form the centre. For patrons making their way to the venue by car there are also car-parking facilities available.
Disabled Access
There are disabled access points and specially adapted toilet facilities available for use in this centre.
