The Michael Sherry Community Facility was fully refurbished and extended in 2009. The extension was created for the delivery of youth work.
Although the extension was built mainly to accommodate youth provision in this area, it can also be booked by other groups when not in use. The centre is used for various activities ranging from women’s guild, budgie club, credit union and craft classes. It is also ideal for children’s birthday parties.
The centre now comprises two halls, the front one seating around 70 people with a small dance floor or 90 people conference style. The youth extension would hold around 70 seated with no dance floor and around 80 people in conference style. There is also a soft play room which can be booked in addition to the main hall for children’s parties. The play area holds a maximum of 10 children at a time.
The centre is all on one level and is fully accessible for disabled users.
