Mount Pleasant Community Centre was built in 1979 for cinematic purposes and is now used by the community as a community centre.
Used for a variety of community purposes, the hall plays host to events such as carpet bowling, the mother and toddler group, senior citizen groups, slimming clubs, local government meetings and councillor surgeries.
Any kind of well-organised social function would be welcomed by Mount Pleasant Community Centre.
Mount Pleasant Community Centre has one main hall, which is situated on the ground floor. This well-lit, spacious area can cater for up to a maximum of 100 persons for a dinner dance and 120 for a disco event. There is also a cloakroom available upon request.
There are two small meeting rooms available for hire. Suitable for a maximum of 16 persons the downstairs room is perfect for a small gathering or club which needs a space in which to meet for an evening. There is an upstairs room, which is situated on the balcony with a small window overlooking main hall activities. This room can retain a maximum of 23 persons at any one time.
To complement main hall requirements there is a kitchen, which is equipped to catering standards. This makes this venue ideal to bring in outside caterers or to simply heat food, which you have already prepared by yourself. There is also a fridge available if required.
Mount Pleasant is not accessible by public transportation. For patrons travelling to the centre by car, there are 12 parking spaces available at the community centre. For further details on available transport click here.
Mount Pleasant Community Centre has disabled access points to the building and there are disabled toilets on the ground floor of the centre. However North Lanarkshire Council regrets to inform patrons that there are no disabled facilities on the first floor.
