Round Our Place Ravenscraig – Walking Workshops

Sunday 8 and Sunday 15 September, 1pm – 2.30pm

Ravenscraig Sports Facility

Join us for Walking Workshops at Ravenscraig!

We invite you to be part of Round Our Place Ravenscraig — a project created with and by the people of North Lanarkshire who live on the periphery of the former Ravenscraig Steelworks.

Join local conservationist Hamshya Rajkumar and Tricky Hat staff for a reflective walk around Ravenscraig. Explore the area’s unique plant and wildlife and share what this post-industrial land means to you as it faces a pivotal moment of regeneration.

Led by Tricky Hat Associate Digital Artist Kim Dundas Beveridge, who was born and raised in North Lanarkshire, this project seeks to reflect on the past, examine the present, and dream of the future. Kim will be recording the workshop, but don’t worry — recording release forms will be provided, and you can opt-out if preferred.

After the walk, we’ll gather for tea and coffee at Ravenscraig Sports Facility to continue our discussions and share stories. If the weather’s bad, we’ll move the workshop indoors.

Everyone is welcome! We’re looking for people from North Lanarkshire to join this creative journey, culminating in a Soundwalk and live performance on the former site of Ravenscraig Steelworks.

Interested in participating or want to learn more? Email Kim Beveridge at kim@trickyhat.com.

Round Our Place Ravenscraig is funded by Creative Scotland and developed in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council and Measuring Humanity at The University of Edinburgh.
