Submit a Haiku
A Haiku is a Japanese poetic form that consists of three lines and 17 syllables, that follows the following format:
Line 1: 5 syllables
Line 2: 7 syllables
Line 3: 5 syllables
We’re challenging you to get creative on National Poetry Day and submit your own Haiku – with the theme of nature. We’ll share our favourites on social media in the coming days and, if we receive enough, create an eBook of the best on BorrowBox.
National Poetry Day Reading
To celebrate National Poetry Day, our E-Services Librarian, Chris Wilson, has created a reading of his favourite poem from Scottish Poet Niall Campbell’s new collection The Island in the Sound. The new collection, along with Niall’s other collections, are available on BorrowBox for you to enjoy on National Poetry Day.
