When you visit

Archives are unique and irreplaceable and have to be preserved for the future. When you visit the Archives we will ask you:

  • to complete a Reader Registration form
  • to handle the documents with care;
  • to always use a pencil when making notes; and
  • not to eat or drink in the search room.

Refreshments

Seating areas are available in the temporary exhibition area on the ground floor and in our garden where you can either enjoy your brought in food / drink or you can purchase hot or cold drinks and snacks from our reception.

Accessibility

Free car parking at the rear of the building with three spaces for blue badge holders.

Accessible entrance and WC on the ground floor.

Our reading room is situated on the first floor and is accessible by a stairwell and lifts.

Portable induction loops at reception and in the reading room

Our public access PCs have accessibility features as standard to enable easy use of the internet and other programs.
