A Universal Offer for Children’s Library Membership in Scotland
North Lanarkshire Libraries fully support Scotland’s campaign to make every child a library member.
The benefits of getting a child a library membership are massive. A free library card provides your child with access to a world of books, free internet access with parental permission, a range of activities from Bookbug to Code Club. Your local library is a special place to visit for you and your child.
Start Now
There’s no need to wait to get your child their first library membership. If they don’t already have a library membership, you can sign them up using our Join Online service. This, first stage, library membership would give your child access to our eLibrary, BorrowBox – a free app providing access to eBooks and eAudiobooks 24/7 from anywhere.
If you would like to sign your child up to the library online, visit our online catalogue here: https://librariesnl.spydus.co.uk
Upgrade On Your Next Visit
If you do sign up to an online membership, you can upgrade this on your next visit to the library and get your child their very first library card, free of charge.
Joining the library as full membership gives access to all the fantastic resources within our libraries as well as our eLibrary service. It’s easy to do. As a parent or guardian, all you need to do is provide ID at our library counter showing your name and address. That’s it, it really is that simple to enjoy the full benefits of the library service.
We can’t wait to see you and your child in a library soon.
