During a week-long celebration of books and reading, we will have a series of events for you to get involved with and join in on the fun.

Zine-Making Workshop

Come along to Bellshill Cultural Centre during Book Week Scotland find out how you can make your very own little zines. All materials will be supplied. Get the chance to see how to put something together and find a fun new hobby.
Open to all ages. Drop-in session so no need to book in advance. Just come along and have fun getting creative.
Pat Nevin in Conversation with Daniel Gray

Pat’s varied career of playing for Chelsea, Everton, Scotland and eventually Motherwell has left him with plenty of tales to tell and we are sure a few will be explored in what is sure to be a fun evening at Motherwell Library for Book Week Scotland. Concrete Dreams

Join the award-winning artists of Recollective as they present and launch their new book Concrete Dreams: The Rise & Fall of Cumbernauld Town Centre.
With words from Alison Irvine, photography from Chris Leslie and illustrations by Mitch Miller the book captures the complex legacy of this distinctive – and controversial – fixture of Scotland’s built environment.
Based on extensive interviews with local people, Concrete Dreams is an in-depth exploration of the social history of Cumbernauld Town Centre and a discussion on what might come next.
The session will consist of a presentation of work and research by the Recollective artists and will be followed by a Q&A and book sales.
