Gowkthrapple Community Centre

Gowkthrapple Community Centre was built in 1979. Regular events that take place in the centre include jobs fairs, dog training classes, Councillor surgeries and bingo evenings

Facilities

Gowkthrapple Community Centre comprises one main hall, one committee room and kitchen.

The main hall can hold up to 120 persons for a dinner dance or disco event. There is a stage set at the rear of the main hall that can be used for musical accompaniment to an evening or for the purposes of a performance. Also situated in the main hall is a hatch from the kitchen. This can be used for ease of serving at a function or can also be used as a bar. Patrons are reminded that there is an additional license fee if alcohol is brought onto the premises.

Suitable for the use of small clubs or gatherings or meetings, there is a small committee room in the centre. This room can retain a maximum of 20 persons.

Kitchen facilities in Gowkthrapple Community Centre are suitable for re-heating food only and may be used for the purpose of hot buffets or heating through ready prepared food.

Transport

Gowkthrapple Community Centre is situated in the centre of Gowkthrapple community. The centre is accessible by public transportation and a bus stop can be found on the main road to Wishaw/Overtown. For patrons who are travelling to the venue by car, there are good parking facilities available at the rear of the centre.  For further details on available transport click here.

Disabled access

There are disabled access points to the centre but we regret to inform patrons that there is not a specially adapted toilet facility available.
