Scottish ballet dancer Reece Clarke and his friends at the Royal Ballet are performing two very special shows in his hometown of Airdrie this summer.
Reece grew up in Airdrie where he and his three elder brothers trained at the Janis Ridley School of Dance before joining The Royal Ballet School to pursue their dreams of becoming professional ballet dancers.
After graduating into the Company during the 2013/14 Season, Reece won the Emerging Artist Award in 2016 and was promoted to First Artist in 2016, Soloist in 2017, First Soloist in 2020, and to Principal in 2022.
Reece has dance alongside acclaimed principal ballerinas, including Natalia Osipova, Marianela Núñez, Alina Cojocaru and Lauren Cuthbertson, to name a few.
Reece’s appearances with the Company have included Romeo, Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake), Prince Florimund (The Sleeping Beauty), Prince (The Nutcracker), The Prince (Cinderella), Polixenes and Antigonus (The Winter’s Tale), Des Grieux (Manon), Dr John Brown (Like Water for Chocolate), and Colonel ‘Bay’ Middleton (Mayerling).
Celebrate Reece Clarke’s extraordinary story at Airdrie Town Hall this August.
