The Archives and Local History team would like to invite you to visit your past and explore your family tree over 4 relaxed and friendly workshops using birth, death and marriage certificates, census returns, cemetery and poor relief records. Discover hints and tips on how to dig up the past using online and other resources.


Date: Every Friday from Friday 1 March until Friday 22 March 2024.
Time: 10am – 11.30am
Where: Wellwynd Room, Airdrie Library

This course will be presented by our Local Studies Officer, Margaret McGinty and our Archivist, Wiebke McGhee.

Session 2 | Friday 8 March
Cemetery and Poor Law records and other archives registers.

Session 3 | Friday 15 March
Online resources for family history researchers.

Session 4 | Friday 22 March.
Introduction to reading old handwriting and archives records for visualising your ancestors’ lives.
