Aladdin Juvenile Ensemble Auditions FAQs

Juvenile Ensemble Auditions take place on Sunday 1 September at 12pm.

Children should come along to the Main entrance of Bellshill Cultural Centre, John Street, Bellshill, ML4 1RJ.

We advise that you check roadworks in and around the area that you are travelling from.

Doors open at 11.15am.

Once the auditioning process has started, latecomers will not be permitted to audition.

Heights will be checked on entrance to the building and children who meet the height requirements will be given a wrist band and asked to wait in the hall.

No pre-registration required.

 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Does my child need to prepare a dance in advance?
No, all children attending the audition will be taught a dance routine.

What should my child wear to the audition?
Children should wear dance clothing.

  • Leggings or tights, leotard or non-baggy top.
  • Jazz shoes or ballet shoes, no trainers or bare feet.
  • Hair tied back from face.
  • No jewellery.

How long will the audition take?
The audition normally takes around 2 hours, but could be longer depending on the number of auditionees.

Will I be able to purchase refreshments?
Please ensure you bring drinks and snacks with you.

Are parents allowed to watch the auditions?

Parents are not permitted in the hall during the audition. Parents can wait in the library area or Multi Purpose Room during the audition.

Can parents leave their child at the audition and come back in an hour/2 hours?
We strongly advise that you wait in the building during the auditions as there are various phases of elimination. If you must go away, please ensure that you notify a member of staff and supply a contact number that staff can reach you on.

Does my child need time off school to take part in the pantomime?
Yes, children do require time off school to take part. This will be explained in detail if you are successful at the audition.

When do the rehearsals start?
This will be explained in detail if you are successful at the audition.

We will be on holiday for part of the rehearsal period. Can my child still take part?
Children are required to attend all rehearsals and performances.

How many performances will my child be taking part in if successful?
There are 3 groups of 6 children and each group will be given a schedule of rehearsal dates and performance dates.
