Abronhill – Cumbernauld High Schools
Police publish walking routes assessment
On 29th July 2013 Police Scotland received a formal request from North Lanarkshire Council, Learning and Leisure Services to undertake a Safety Assessment of all the proposed walking routes to Cumbernauld High School.
This request followed conditional consent given by Scottish Ministers to discontinue the provision of education at Abronhill and Cumbernauld High Schools and establish a new school at the existing Cumbernauld premises.
The purpose of the assessment was to examine the safety of particular walking routes which children would be expected to travel to and from school following the rationalisation of both establishments.
