Celebrating the 120th Anniversary of Airdrie observatory:
Culture NL proudly presents Last Man on the Moon.
In 1972, Captain Gene Cernan, Commander of Apollo 17, stepped into the Lunar Module and left the Moon behind forever. Since that day, no one has followed in his footsteps.
The documentary The Last Man on the Moon was made to tell the story of Gene Cernan, the last of the twelve NASA astronauts to walk on the Moon.

In our first club night after our summer break, documentary film maker Mark Craig shares his experience of making the film, with behind the scenes photographs and stories of his time spent with Captain Cernan

21.30pm audience will go to Airdrie Library for 21.45pm book signing of the latest edition of Last man on the moon book with Mark Craig and then a guided tour and use of 120 year old astronomy suite at Airdrie Observatory/Library.
