Summerlee Museum is expected to be very busy on event days. To make the most out of your visit, please plan your travel in advance.

Public Transport

It’s easy to get to Summerlee car-free, as trains and buses stop just 10 minutes’ walk away.

There are direct trains to Coatbridge from: Glasgow (25 mins), Edinburgh (55 mins) and Dumbarton (50 mins).

There are direct buses to Coatbridge from: Glasgow (25 mins), Livingston (50 mins), East Kilbride (75 mins) and other local towns.

Cycling

Summerlee Museum is part of National Cycle Route 75. Cycle racks to lock your bikes to are available at the gates.
Please note: bikes cannot be ridden on the museum grounds for safety reasons.

 

Coaches and Minibuses

Coach and minibus drivers can drop off passengers on Heritage Way, then park at the Time Capsule (100 Buchanan St, Coatbridge ML5 1DL). No coach parking on Heritage Way.

 

Cars

Please make use of the car park at the Time Capsule (100 Buchanan St, Coatbridge, ML5 1DL). Summerlee Museum is a 10 minute walk. Traffic wardens operate on Heritage Way and surrounding streets.
