Folk Tales of Lanarkshire | Storywalks

Local Tales Brought To Life

Join us for a series of Storywalks where the tale of local witch, Maggie Ramsay, will be told in the area where it all took place. Ramble the Maggie Ramsay woods, the Fiddle Naked Field and the Auld North Burn.

The legend will be brought to life by professional storyteller and author of Lanarkshire Folk Tales, Allison Galbraith.

Monday 11 July, 2pm

To book a place, please email Judy McGuire or Drew Feeney. Alternatively call Airdrie Library on 01236 758070.

The walk starts from out St Andrew’s Church, Whinhall Road, Airdrie.

As the walk will be through a woodland environment conditions underfoot will be uneven and weather-dependant. Please, therefore, take suitable precautions in order to enjoy this event in full.

This event has been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund. This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery Players.
