National Poetry Day Competition

Take part in our National Poetry Day competition and have the chance to have your poetry made available to all our library members via BorrowBox.

Do you fancy yourself as a poet? This is your chance to show off your writing talents to the rest of North Lanarkshire by entering our National Poetry Day competition.

Open to residents of North Lanarkshire of all ages, the competition opens Wednesday 1 August, 9am and closes on Friday 31 August, 5pm.  Entrants are challenged to submit an entry of no more than 500 words of their own work based on Change – the theme of National Poetry Day 2018. Full terms and conditions available here.

Submit your original piece of work in a typed format at any library within North Lanarkshire or on online to libraries@culturenl.co.uk. Please note – entrants must be formally unpublished writers. For more information check the terms and conditions linked above.

12 entries will then be chosen by a judging panel to be published on BorrowBox on Thursday 4 October and made available for all library members to download and enjoy.

Get those creative minds thinking, and get your entries typed up and handed in or emailed.
