Macmillan Volunteer Journey Exhibition

Come along to Motherwell Library to learn more about what it means to be a Macmillan in Lanarkshire Volunteer and the difference volunteers make to people with cancer. The exhibition will take you on a volunteer’s journey from application to volunteering, whether at library Cancer Information & Support Services hubs or at specialist physical activity sessions in libraries and leisure venues, and you’ll find out how to apply if you’d like to join the Macmillan in Lanarkshire volunteer team.

Carers often struggle to know what information is available to them and how to access it. Come along to our quiz with a twist, have a chat with the team and find out what’s out there to help you in your caring role, including the duties of the new Carers (Scotland) Act. If someone is having difficulties with everyday activities or any aspect of their health and well-being, this is for them. Anyone who lives in North Lanarkshire can use this service for themselves or someone they care about. This is an online resource offering information, professional advice and direct access to services and support. Making Life Easier is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This information clinic will familiarise and allow participants to see the range of resources available, assistance to register or if they have any further questions regarding the site. Would you like to know more about smoking whether you would like to help to stop smoking, or want more information around smoking? There will be a manned information stall with leaflets and someone to chat to about tobacco awareness, the dangers of second hand smoke within the home and around children as well as promoting how to be a good anti-tobacco role model and the stop smoking service.
