A creative writing workshop with Pippa Goldschmidt, who will use writing exercises to show how different aspects of science and scientific writing can be used to inspire wonderful fiction; from realistic lab-based stories to sky-high fantasy. Pippa Goldschmidt used to be an astronomer and is now a writer. She is the author of the novel ‘The Falling Sky’ (about an astronomer who finds evidence challenging the Big Bang theory and loses her mind). Pippa has also written a short story collection, ‘The Need for Better Regulation of Outer Space’, and was co-editor of the anthology ‘I Am Because You Are’ (all published by Freight). Her short stories and essays broadcast on Radio 4 and published widely.
